Today's word is an adjective through which everybody has to pass before creating a masterpiece. Yes... its the base of great creations because nothing great can come out overnight ..... it all starts from embryo !! Well... this word is derived from the Latin root "incohare" which means "to begin". And the pronunciation of this word goes like "in'kow-eyt".

Dictionary meaning(adjective)--- In an initial or early stage ; imperfectly partly in existence.
Example sentence ---  My idea about astrophysics is inchoate ... I have only attended one class !!

Fun description -- Well.. you can use it in various ways .... let me give you two of my anecdotes .:--
1.Once I was jotting down some formulae in a small sheet of paper just before the exam ( you know why :P) then suddenly one of my friends who is pretty pro in this business came up and said " Oh!! your exam-scratch is so inchoate ... just watch mine " and then he took out his paper and it seemed like a long list of grocery items written down for a year on a kilometer-long gauge toilet paper ..... "You are next to genius" was the instant response from me!!:P 
2. Then I had that i-don't-know-anything-except-text-books type roommate back in my high-school. Once I asked him to explain me the theory of relativity ... then he said "actually I think the theory is pretty inchoate ... I am working on it "  ..... I swear I couldn't sleep after hearing that reply for two days !! 


But I admire both the people whom I have stated in these two anecdotes because of only one reason-- both of them knew the word "inchoate" :)

#8--Retrodict

Retrodict


Here comes another awesome word !! Yeah ... it is a magical word having magical powers to know about past :) ... keep your fingers crossed ! Well... from today I have decided to give some insight to the word etymology(derivation of word) of whichever word I dissect here so that people can remember it even better . Today's word comes from root "retro" which means past and "dict" which means dictation or to speak. Now... I guess you have already guessed the meaning .... see that's the magic of etymology :)
And.... I don't think that I need to provide the pronunciation guide today for this word as it is pretty evident ... so we go straight to the meaning !!

Dictionary meaning (verb) -- to utilize present information or ideas to infer or explain (a past event or state of affairs)

Example sentence -- From your present state of mind in can retrodict that you were in an asylum a couple of months back :P

Fun description -- Well there are a lot of ways you can actually retrodict about people. You can retrodict about your friends , parents , girlfreind , boyfriend , ex-girlfriend , ex-ex-ex-- girlfriend , ex-ex-ex-ex..thingamabob(you can get this word here) etc . You retrodict about the dog who didn't wag its tail watching you . You can retrodict about your new roommate who gave you that i-won't-leave-you look after you stepped on his neat bed sheet wearing your slippers.You can retrodict about that emotionless strict geography teacher who gave you that i-will-change-the-geography-of-your-face-look. 

But the most important thing about which you forget to retrodict is you. Just watch yourself standing in front of that  tall mirror in your drawing room. What did you retrodict now ?? ....... Oh... leave it ... I know you don't wanna tell :P

#7-- Farouche

Yeah ... this is an uncommon word . And it's also a bit slang inclined  as you can easily piss people off by using this at their flat face ( provided they know the meaning:P) . No... you guesses it wrong .... it has nothing obscene (or porn :P) .
 Before I elaborate ... lets look at its pronunciation which is "fu-roosh".... don't get it wrong !!

Dictionary meaning (adjective) --  Sullen, shy;  lacking social skills
Example sentence -- I don't think you will be able to  impress that pretty girl with your farouche behavior. (actually I have my eye one her :P)

Fun description -- Well.. its kinda not-so-slang-but-solves-my-purpose type of word. You can use it in a variety of ways like I do to piss people off :P 
1. Hey.. actually you are too farouche to talk to .. and I would rather prefer refreshing my facebook page again and again than watching your farouche face.
2. What the hell .. no one wrote on my wall till now ?? Is it face book or farouche book ??
3. If someone can get my farouche friend to disco tonight ... I will make a permanent tattoo of his/her name in my back !! 
4. You and and your girlfreind are made for each other ... you both are equally farouche :P
